St.Moritz Stampede Lamborghini meets St.Moritz in June ... |
Automobili Lamborghini SpA was founded over 40 years ago, and since then a large number of magnificent cars were built inside this factory near Bologna, a massive
selection of these cars made their way to St.Moritz to take part of what would become one of the largest club event ever on the European mainland.
Figures vary depending on which source you'll read, but between 120 and 150 Raging Bulls were counted, driven by over 200 enthusiasts, all invited by the German,
Swiss and Italian Lamborghini Club. The event was put together by Stefan Sehring, president of the International Lamborghini Owners Club located in Germany, and
Oliver Brütsch from the Swiss club. They invited owners and fans from all over Europe, people from the Netherlands, Austria, Switzerland, Italy and Germany all brought
their pride and joy to St. Moritz in the Swiss Alps.

A nice touch was the fact that the ArtiMarca Shop was housed inside the Kempinski Hotel during this meeting, so the guests could expand their Automobili Lamborghini
collection even further.
Or have a talk with the legendary Valentino Balboni, who was always ready to share a few stories from his long relationship with Lamborghini. He probably drove most
of the cars that were present anyway while they were new, and his experience and knowledge is unsurpassed in the Lamborghini community.
| Over 5000 Gallardo's have been built since it's introduction back in 2003 |
One of the more impressive 'old-timers' at St.Moritz during this weekend were a stunning collection of Countach, ranging from the 4-Liter versions right up to the
Quattrovalvole and 25th Anniversary edition.
The Lamborghini Countach succeeded the sensual Miura back in the Seventies, and this model introduced those by now trademark upwards opening doors.
The Countach might not be the easiest car to get into to, and even when seated in the small bucket seats between the wide side sill and the massive central console,
driving it can be compared with a work out at the local gym.
The clutch is heavy, the gear change isn't any lighter and the air conditioning isn't really up to the task of keeping the cockpit at a decent temperature with that
massive V12 engine just inches behind your back.
But I guess the wildest Murciélago present in St.Moritz would have to be the one modified by BF Performance. They took the already wild looking LP640 and added
a massive front spoiler, Diablo GT style Carbon Fiber front hood and a nearly monstrous rear wing. All very impressive, and it does look even faster in this guise,
truly a fighter for the road.

You could argue that most of the Lamborghini's that gathered during this weekend would be Gallardo's, if you saw them parked together you could get this impression,
as a lot of these V10 models were present.
This 'Baby Bull' is naturally the best selling Lamborghini ever, period. Over 5000 have been built since it's introduction back in 2003 so the chance of encountering a
Gallardo is ten times bigger than seeing a Miura for instance, only 500 were ever built of the latter one.
One of my personal favorites only arrived on Sunday, it was parked in front of the hotel but wasn't driven .. the stunning black Gallardo GT3 Strasseversion by Reiter
Engineering.
I've been a passenger in this specific car with Peter Kox behind the steering wheel, and it was an experience I'll never forget. This is an amazing car, those wide
front fenders are just fantastic, the only Gallardo that would top it on my Christmas list would be the IMSA GTV model in fact.
