SpotLIGHT Some very interesting Lamborghini Cars ... |
Lamborghini and Auto Moto ITALIA have been closely connected ever since the start of this major event in the Nethelands.
The death of Enzo Ferrari in 1989 caused quite a stir in the Italian exotic car market, price were skyrocketing with one
of the legendary Ferrari 250 GTO's reaching no less than 15 million Euro during a Monaco based auction.
As a side effect, other Italian made super cars became more and more expensive to obtain on the second hand market, Italian
car dealers were experiencing some golden times in the early Nineties.

Martin de Vries decided it was time to share his passion for Italian cars with others and founded the Auto Moto ITALIA
event in 1991, and it became an instant success.
He was placed in a very enviable position to put something this great together, as Martin had been working with Kroymans
for ten years prior to his Auto Moto ITALIA adventure. Kroymans was the official importer for makes like Ferrari
in the Netherlands, so Martin de Vries knew this specific market like the palm of his hand, and what was more important,
this niche market knew Martin very well.
The first edition of Auto Moto ITALIA opened it's doors in November 1991 and the many visitors came eye to eye with the
most exotic cars ever made in Italy.
Whatever you could imagine was on display, numerous Ferrari's and Lamborghini's were presented, and Auto Moto Italia set
a standard for Italian car events.
Martin de Vries could always count on the enthusiastic help from the Lamborghini Club Nederland, who like no other
understand that the only way these extreme cars can be appreciated is by showing them to the world during events like the
one Martin organizes.
